漢族小學生陽陽，意外結識來自新疆的維族轉學生艾力。兩個孩子雖屬不同族裔，卻能一起玩樂，也能分享心底對父母的不滿，有著許多相似心情。然而，父親的嚴詞警告和社會的固有思維，像是一道無形的圍籬，默默影響著陽陽的內心，當艾力邀請陽陽參加維族節慶，他能否突破隔閡加入他們呢？

Set in a coastal city in China, [Frontier] describes the friendship between two kids - a local Han boy and a Uygur boy, who just moved to this city. Their friendship is greatly influenced by social prejudice and cultural differences.
